PUBLIC NOTICE
Subject:- Fee Fixation in Private Medical Colleges – Reg.

Attention of all concerned is invited that some media reports suggest that the Board of Governors in Supersession of the Medical Council of India have recommended some “Guidelines for Fee Fixation in Private Medical Colleges” to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. These Media Reports are not correct.

2.      All concerned are hereby informed that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India had requested the Board of Governors in supersession of the Medical Council of India to prepare Guidelines for fixation of fees in Private Medical Colleges. These Guidelines are to facilitate the National Medical Commission to be constituted by the Government of India under the National Medical Commission Act, 2019 in discharge of its responsibilities under the NMC Act, 2019.

3.      The Board of Governors have initiated preliminary work for formulation of such Guidelines through collection of data. Details of fee structure of private medical colleges have been received and are being examined. No recommendations has yet been finalised.
