Total Coronavirus cases in India reaches 75; private firm employee in Noida tested positive

A 76-year-old man from Karnataka has become the first victim of coronavirus death in India. Karnataka health minister B Sriramalu said that his sample had confirmed that he was suffering from the virus. He was a resident of Kalbauragi in Karnataka and had recently returned from Saudi Arabia. He was suffering from hypertension, diabetes and asthma too.

Till Thursday, a total of 74 positive cases of coronavirus have been traced in the country, according to the data provided by the Union health ministry. A maximum of 17 positive cases have been reported from the state of Kerala including the three cured patients who had returned from China’s Hubei province. Following Kerala, 11 cases have been reported in Maharashtra and 10 cases have been traced in Uttar Pradesh. 17 foreign nationals are also included in the 74 positive cases traced in the country. A Google employee in Bangalore has also been tested positive. There are reports of an Australian cricketer also getting infected by the COVID-19 virus.

Delhi government has shut down all colleges, schools and movie theatre as a precautionary measure. Schools and colleges conducting the ongoing examinations will remain open. 6 cases have been reported in Delhi so far.

The central government has suspended visas from all the countries in order to stop the spread of the coronavirus. Few exceptions include the diplomatic visits and employment visas. The government has also recommended people to avoid travelling abroad.

No IPL matches to be played in Delhi. Delhi government has ban sports activities due to coronavirus risk. No seminars and conferences are to be organizedin Delhi.

On Friday, Nepal has suspended permits to climb Everest dueto the coronavirus pandemic. Nepal has also suspended climbing on all mountains in the country and has stopped issuing tourist visas.

Indonesia has temporarily banned the export of face masks to protect the domestic supply within the coronavirus epidemic. Trade Minister Agus Suparman to said that they will issue a temporary export ban for mask products to meet rising demand from domestic industries and consumers.

Total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in India is 75 (including foreign nationals).

An employee from Google Bengaluru office has been diagnosed with coronavirus. The employee has been quarantined. They have asked employees in Bengaluru office to work from home.

One employee from a private firm in Noida has tested positive for COVID-19. He had been recently to France and China.
