ICMR confirms 206 positive cases in India; recent updates of COVID-19

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has reported a total number of 206 people who are tested positive among suspected cases and contacts of known positive cases in the country. A total number of 14,376 samples from 13,486 individuals have tested for coronavirus as on 20th March 2020.

Jayanti Ravi, Principal Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, reported 2 people from Ahmedabad and 1 from Vadodara tested positive for COVID-19. Vadodara person has a travel history to Spain and the 2 people in Ahmedabad had a travel history to Finland and New York. The confirmed case from Rajkot had landed at Mumbai Airport and travelled from Mumbai to Jamnagar by train. All of them were initially on ventilator but now stable.

South Western Railway has suspended an officer for allegedly hiding information about her son who had recently returned from Italy. The officers son is in isolation now after the officials got information about his return from Italy.

Maharashtra Health Minister, Rajesh Tope confirmed total 3 people have tested positive for COVID-19.1 each from Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune and Mumbai. The total number of positive cases in Maharashtra has rose to 52.

A 69-year-old woman, with a travel history from the United Kingdom, has been tested positive for COVID-19, taking the total count of cases to 3.

4 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Lucknow, with the total number of cases to 9.
