He said that a patient can easily communicate using this smart button with health workers."Both coronavirus patients and health care staff involved in their treatment have affected psychologically. If any patient admitted in the hospital, there will be some attendant. In coronavirus case, there wont be any attendant. The Bengaluru-based Indian Academy of Sciences has said that the Indian Council for Medical Research’s (ICMR) aim to launch a vaccine for the coronavirus infection by August 15 is simply “unfeasible” as well as “unrealistic”.Admitting that there is a crucial and urgent need for a vaccine to curb the spread of the disease, the body of scientists said that development of a vaccine for use on human beings needs scientifically done clinical trials conducted in a staggered manner.“Administrative approvals can be expedited, but the “scientific processes of experimentation and data collection have a natural time span that cannot be hastened without compromising standards of scientific rigour,” the IASc said in a statement on Monday.

COVID-19: Mylan to launch remdesivir in India at Rs 4,800 per 100 mg vial

Pharmaceutical major Mylan NV announced that it has received approval from Indian drugs regulator DCGI to manufacture and market its remdesivir for restricted emergency use in the country for the treatment of COVID-19. The drug will be priced at Rs 4,800 per 100 mg vial and would be available to the patients in this month.The company joins domestic pharma firm Cipla and Hetero who have already received permission from the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) to manufacture and market remdesivir for the treatment of COVID-19.The DCGI has approved the companys remdesivir 100 mg per vial for restricted emergency use in India as part of the regulators accelerated approval process to address urgent, unmet needs amid the evolving the COVID-19 pandemic, Mylan said in a statement.

New Delhi: A viral video of Bengaluru-based doctor Taha Mateen has brought to light an acute shortage of doctors and nurses to treat Covid-19 patients in the city. ,“I have beds, I have oxygen beds, I have ventilators, I have all the equipment. I have another 30 beds like this but I don’t have doctors working here,” Mateen, the managing director of HBS Hospital in Bengaluru’s Shivajinagar, can be heard saying.,Karnataka has so far seen 23,474 cases and 372 deaths.Recording the video from a Covid-19 ICU in his hospital, Dr Mateen calls the crisis a “virtual bloodbath” and says people have been unable to find beds in the city’s facilities.
