The World Health Organization (WHO) has urged countries to gradually lift international travel measures guided by a comprehensive risk assessment. The agency has also asked to prioritize essential travel for emergencies.

WHO has recommended that priority should be given to essential travel for emergencies, humanitarian actions, travel of essential personnel, and repatriation. A rise in new infections in several parts of the world has forced many countries to reimpose some travel restrictions. The WHO has called on every country to conduct a risk-benefit analysis of its own and decide on its priorities, prior to resuming international travel… (Reuters, July 31, 2020)
