Russia set to register first COVID-19 vaccine on August 12

Moscow: Russia is going to register its first vaccine against the coronavirus on August 12, stated Deputy Health Minister Oleg Gridnev.

The vaccine has been jointly developed by the Gamaleya Research Institute and the Russian Defence Ministry. According to Gridnev, the last, third, stage is going on. He stated that medical professionals and senior citizens will be the first to get the vaccination. The vaccine went into clinical trials on June 18 with 38 volunteers. All the participants developed immunity and the first group was discharged on July 15. The second group got discharged on July 20… (ET Healthworld – ANI, August 7, 2020)
