It was extremely cold and many animals had died because of the coldest winter ever.

The hedgehogs realized the situation and decided to group together to keep warm. This way they could cover and protect themselves; however, the quills of each one of them wounded their closest companions.

Eventually, they decided to distance themselves from one another and began to die, alone and frozen. They understood that they had to make a choice: either accept the quills of their companions or die.

Hence, they went back to being together. They learned to live with the little wounds that the close relationship with their companions causedso that they could receive the heat that came from others. Therefore, they were able to survive.

The best relationship is when each individual learns to live with the imperfections of others and can admire the other persons qualities.
