COVID-19 Active Caseload in India Drops to 2.54 Lakh

Indias COVID-19 active caseload continues to show a downward trend and has significantly declined to 2.54 lakh, the lowest after 179 days, stated the Union Health Ministry on Friday.

The total active cases stood at 2,53,287 on July 6. The country’s active caseload presently consists of merely 2.47% of its total cases. The daily fresh cases in India over the recent days have been around 20,000.

Recoveries have outnumbered daily new cases for last 35 days and have ensured a consistent decline in active cases, stated the ministry. The total recovered cases are close to 99 lakh (98,83,461). About 77.61% of the new recovered cases appear to be concentrated in 10 states and UTs… (NDTV – PTI, January 1, 2021)
