COVID-19 vaccines could be made available to "our countrymen" as early as the next few days, stated Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan.

The government has made sure that every detail of the vaccination program is conveyed to the people, right from the national level to the grassroots level, he stated. Healthcare professionals and frontline workers will be the first to be vaccinated, said the minister while reviewing the second dry run of the COVID-19 vaccination exercise at the Government General Hospital in Chennai. He said, “...In the next few days, in the near future, we should be able to give these vaccines to our countrymen. It will be given to our healthcare professional followed by frontline workers. Lakhs of healthcare workers are being trained through these dry runs, and the process to train more is still going on." (NDTV, January 8, 2021)
