The White House coronavirus task force has stated in its report that the United States may have its own version of a more transmissible variant of the virus causing COVID-19.

Reports sent by the task force to states, dated January 3, cautioned about the possibility of a USA variant of COVID-19, reported CNN. The fall/winter spike has been at around double the rate of rise of cases as the spring and summer surges. This indicates that there could be a USA variant, besides the UK variant that is already spreading in the communities and may be 50% more transmissible, stated reports obtained by CNN.
