35.9 million vaccine doses distributed in the US, 16.5 million administered

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has stated that 16,525,281 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have already been administered in the US as of Wednesday morning, while 35,990,150 doses have been distributed.

The count of doses comprises of both Moderna and Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines. According to the January 19 tally, the US CDC had administered 15,707,588 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines, and had distributed 31,161,075 doses. According to the agency, 14,270,441 individuals had been given 1 or more doses while a total of 2,161,419 people have received the second dose as of Wednesday. Overall, 1,908,256 doses have been administered in long-term care facilities, stated the agency… (Reuters, January 21, 2021)
