India reached yet another milestone on Monday as more than 20 lakh individuals were vaccinated against COVID-19.

The new infections and the daily fatalities were at their lowest in nearly eight months, with 9,102 fresh cases and 117 deaths reported across the country on Monday. The states accounting for more than 57% of the day’s tally were Kerala and Maharashtra. Kerala alone accounted for 37% of the total cases. Monday saw 4,08,305 health workers getting vaccinated against COVID-19 across 7,764 sessions. Only five states, including Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, carried out the inoculation sessions on Tuesday on account of Republic Day celebrations and only 5,615 individuals were vaccinated… (ET Healthworld – TNN, January 27, 2021)
