Johnson & Johnson has stated that its single-dose vaccine against COVID-19 was found to be 66% effective in preventing COVID-19 in a large global trial against several variants.

The trial included around 44,000 volunteers and noted the level of protection against moderate and severe COVID-19 to range from 72% in the United States to 66% in Latin America and 57% in South Africa. According to the data, the vaccine’s impact on the South Africa variant was reduced in comparison with the original strain.
