Dr. Reddys Laboratories Ltd is expected to apply for emergency-use authorization for Russias Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine by March, reported a company official. Peer-reviewed trial data have confirmed the vaccine’s effectiveness.

Dr. Reddys is working with the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) to conduct clinical trials of the vaccine in India. Results published recently in the Lancet suggest that the vaccine is 91.6% effective against COVID-19, on the basis of late-stage trials conducted in Russia.
