U.S. President Joe Biden visited some leading scientists working on the frontlines of the war against COVID-19. The President announced that the U.S. will procure enough vaccine doses by the end of the summer to be able to vaccinate 300 million Americans.

Mr Biden stated that the country had secured contracts from Moderna and Pfizer to deliver 600 million doses of vaccine by the end of July. Vaccinations could be accelerated further if a third vaccine against COVID-19 from drugmaker Johnson & Johnson is granted the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval.
