New Ebola outbreak in Guinea

Guinea has announced a fresh Ebola outbreak as tests came out positive for the virus following the death of three individuals and after four people fell ill. This is the first resurgence of the viral disease in Guinea since the worst outbreak reported in 2013-2016.

The patients developed diarrhea, vomiting and bleeding after they attended a burial in Goueke sub-prefecture. Those who are still alive are isolated in treatment centers, stated the health ministry, adding that conforming to international health regulations, the government of Guinea has declared an Ebola epidemic.
