More than 87 lakh beneficiaries have been administered COVID-19 vaccinedoses in the country thus far, reported the Union Health Ministry on Tuesday.

Rajesh Bhushan, Secretary, Union Health Ministry said that more than87,40,000 vaccine doses have already been administered, with 85,70,000 of thesebeing the first doses and over 1,70,000 being the second doses.

He further stated that active cases in India now stand at below1,40,000. Average daily deaths in the previous week have come down to 93, asthe cumulative positivity rate also showed a decline and stands at 5.27%. Thenumber of daily active cases over the last 15 days has ranged from 12,900 to9,000 per day. Additionally, over the previous week, the country has reported 56new cases per million population and 0.5 new deaths per million population… (NDTV– ANI, February 16, 2021)
