Hospitalizations due to COVID-19 in the United States have declined to their lowest level since early November, suggest data.
The COVID Tracking Project estimated that nearly 59,800 COVID-19 patients were admitted in US hospitals on Friday, a dip of about 55% from the peak of over 132,470 hospitalizations on January 6. The numbers reported on Friday are the first below 60,000 since November 9. Average daily new cases and deaths have also been recording a fall for weeks after reaching a peak in mid-January. Public health experts have constantly been stressing on faster vaccinations, before more transmissible variants of the virus can spread and reverse the progress… (CNN, February 20, 2021)
