India's active COVID-19 caseload dips below 1.5 lakh

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the country has fallen below the 1.5-lakh mark, as on Tuesday. The number stood at 1,47,306, constituting 1.34% of the total caseload in the country, stated the Union health ministry. 

Further, the ministry stated that 21 states and UTs did not report any new deaths in a 24-hour-span. Overall, 10,584 new infections and 13,255 recoveries were added in 24 hours, with a net fall of 2,749 cases in the active caseload tally. The daily positivity rate continues to be below 3% in India. In all, 78 new fatalities related to COVID-19 were reported on Tuesday, stated the ministry adding that a steady decline is being seen in daily new deaths…(ET Healthworld – PTI, February 23, 2021)
