Mental Health Impact of COVID-19 around the World: New Data

A new survey evaluating the mental health impact of COVID-19 globally has shown high rates of trauma and clinical mood disorders related to the pandemic.

The survey was conducted by Sapien Labs in eight English-speaking countries and included 49,000 adults. About 57% of the respondents reported to have experienced some COVID-19-related adversity or trauma. About a quarter of them showed clinical signs of, or had a risk for, a mood disorder. Only about 40% described themselves to be succeeding or thriving. Individuals reporting the poorest mental health included young adults and those who experienced financial problem or were not receiving care for other medical conditions… (Medscape)
