COVID-19 Vaccine for All Aged 45 or Older from April 1 in India

People aged 45 years and older can be vaccinated against COVID-19 from April 1, stated the government, strengthening the countrywide vaccination drive at a time when cases are rising in several states. 

Union Minister Prakash Javadekar urged all citizens aged 45 or above to register for vaccination. Currently, only citizens who are 60 plus and those above 45 years of age with specified comorbidities are getting vaccinated. Now, people aged 45 and above can start registering for vaccination from April 1. The minister stated that 4.85 crore beneficiaries have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and around 80 lakh have received the second dose thus far… (NDTV, March 24, 2021)
