A report by the State Bank of India (SBI) has stated that the country is experiencing a rise in the daily fresh COVID-19 cases since February, adding that the second wave may last up to 100 days, counting from February 15.

On the basis of trends till March 23, the number of COVID-19 cases in India in the second wave is predicted to be around 25 lakh. The report further stated localized lockdowns seem inadequate and mass inoculation against COVID-19 appears to be our only hope to win the fight against the pandemic.
