India's Ongoing COVID-19 Wave Could Peak in Second Half of April, says SBI Report

A report by the State Bank of India (SBI) has stated that the country is experiencing a rise in the daily fresh COVID-19 cases since February, adding that the second wave may last up to 100 days, counting from February 15.

On the basis of trends till March 23, the number of COVID-19 cases in India in the second wave is predicted to be around 25 lakh. The report further stated localized lockdowns seem inadequate and mass inoculation against COVID-19 appears to be our only hope to win the fight against the pandemic. The report added that the country might reach the peak in the second half of April, based on the number of days from the present level of daily new cases to the peak level during the first wave of the pandemic… (NDTV, March 25, 2021)
