According to Pfizer Inc and BioNTech SE, their vaccine against COVID-19 was safe and effective and evoked strong antibody responses in children aged 12 to 15 years.

The vaccine is currently authorized for use in those aged 16 and above. A new study provides evidence that the vaccine will work in school-age adolescents as well. The study included 2,260 children, 12 to 15 years of age and noted 18 cases of COVID-19 in the group that received a placebo shot and no cases in those who received the vaccine, translating to a 100% efficacy in preventing COVID-19, reported the companies in a statement.
