Extrinsic skin ageing or photoaging is not exclusively due to solar ultraviolet (UV) radiation, there are other contributing factors too that play a major role. A study by Krutmann J. et al reviewed the existing scientific evidence on daily photoprotection. They also mentioned product level specific requirements to prevent extrinsic skin ageing. They found evidence to prevent extrinsic ageing by using broad protection against the entire solar range of UVB, UVA, UVA1, visible light, and short infrared (IRA), along with other factors as air pollution and smoking.Thus they recommended the use of daily broad-spectrum sunscreen photoprotection containing-antioxidant ingredients for benefits against UV, IRA, and pollution-induced oxidative stressanti-ageing active ingredients for clinical benefits against skin ageing signs, like wrinkles and dark spots.Pigments like iron oxide for me...
