ICMR to conduct clinical trial to evaluate COVID-19 therapy with Oxford University

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has suggested to carry out a clinical trial for randomized evaluation of COVID-19 therapy with the University of Oxford. An expression of intent for participation in the trial has also been sought from hospitals. 

The trial, called India-UK RECOVERY (Randomised Evaluation of COVID-19 therapy), will be a multi-center, adaptive platform trial involving COVID patients. An expression of intent has been solicited from institutions or hospitals that have the facilities and capacity to be a part of the clinical trial, wherein patients admitted in their hospitals will be enrolled. The intervention group in the trial will be given baricitinib while the control arm will be given local standard of care… (ET Healthworld – PTI, July 10, 2021)
