A common consent for diagnostic and operative procedures can be taken where they are contemplated, as per a judgement of the Supreme Court of India, in  a case titled Samira Kohli vs. Dr. Prabha Manchanda and Anr on 16 January, 2008. Civil Appeal No. 1949 of 2004. (2008) 2 SCC 1; AIR 2008 SC 1385.
