Doctor robbed off Rs. 1.16 crore and the hope of getting a medical seat for his son!
In a report from Bengaluru, a doctor was promised that his son will get admission to MS Ramaiah Medical College at a cost of Rs.1.16 crore. The gang was busted, and five members of the gang have been arrested by the Central Crime Branch recently.
The kingpin of the gang, Nagaraj, was known to the victims doctor. He promised the doctor to secure admission for the doctor’s son in M.S. Ramaiah Medical College and the doctor gave him Rs 1.75 lakh for the admission fee. Later the doctor has him 60 Lakh as a capitation fee and a bribe. However, on reaching the college, the doctor’s son came to know that he has not secured admission.
When the doctor followed up with Nagaraj and demanded that he return the money, Nagaraj put him in a lodge in the Majestic area and promised to return with the money. However, Nagaraj further duped him with a fake case of involvement in prostitution and blackmailed him for more money.
The whole case that looks like straight out of a Bollywood movie, has been busted and 5 accused have been arrested with police being able to recover some money, ornaments, and a set of walkie-talkies used by their men to pose as policemen.
