Hospital-level care at home maintains quality and reduces cost
The use of substitutive home-hospitalization i.e. hospital-level care at home for acutely ill adults compared to in-hospital usual care reduced cost and utilization and improved physical activity. No significant differences in quality, safety, and patient experience were observed in a pilot study published February 6, 2018 in the Journal of General Internal Medicine.
