The American Heart Association (AHA) has issued a scientific statement on spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) published online February 22, 2018 in the journal Circulation, which recognizes that SCAD not only is more common than previously believed but also must be evaluated and treated differently from atherosclerotic myocardial infarction.
