Diuretic therapy for extremely preterm infants does not alleviate respiratory problems

Administration of diuretics to extremely preterm infants showed no benefit in overcoming respiratory problems in a study published March 26, 2018 in The Journal of Pediatrics. Ninety percent of the infants on diuretics needed supplemental oxygen vs 59% of infants who were not given diuretics.
