More than 50% of obese adults with arthritis get no weight-loss counseling from their doctor
A study published May 4, 2018 in the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report suggests that from 2002 to 2014, the prevalence of health care provider counseling for weight loss among adults with arthritis and overweight or obesity increased from 35.1% to 45.5% showing an increase of 10.4%. However, more than 50% of adults with arthritis and overweight or obesity do not receive weight-loss counseling from their doctor.
