Low PTH and calcium levels increase risk of hypoparathyroidism post-thyroidectomy

Low parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels and low calcium levels are associated with increased risk (~30%) of hypoparathyroidism after thyroidectomy, reported a study at the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) annual meeting in Boston.
