Measuring A1c in the first trimester may identify women at risk of gestational diabetes

As per new research published online August 16, 2017 in Scientific Reports, women who develop gestational diabetes (GDM) may have impaired glucose homeostasis early in or prior to pregnancy, as indicated by their elevated first trimester HbA1c. First trimester HbA1c may help early identification of at risk women.
