All pregnant women should be screened for syphilis early

A US Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) Reaffirmation Recommendation Statement published online September 4, 2018 in JAMA has recommended (Grade A) early screening for syphilis infection in all pregnant women. If a woman has not received prenatal care prior to delivery, she should be tested at the time she presents for delivery.
