20 year old Indian man announced dead by doctors, wakes up at his own funeral

According to reports, an Indian man who was declared dead by the doctors, woke up just before he was about to be buried during a funeral ceremony.Mohammad Furqan, aged 20, was declared dead by Indian medical professionals, but his shocking awakening at the funeral in the Northern Indian city of Lucknowhas shocked funeral-goers.He was immediately brought to the hospital and put on a ventilator to support him.

Furqan had met with an accident and was unconscious since June 21. Doctors declared him dead on Monday but unexpectedly only after the man’s family told the hospital that they no longer had the funds to pay for his treatment.

The family told the Hindustan Times that the situation left them devastated because they not only had to come to terms with Furqan’s passing, but alsosaw him moving during the funeral.

His older brother Mohammad Irfan told the outlet that they were devastated and were preparing for the burial when few of them saw movement in his limbs. So they immediately took Furqan to the Ram ManoharLohia hospital where the doctors said he was alive and then put him on ventilator support.He also said that they had paid Rs 7 lakh to the private hospital earlier and when they told the hospital that they had ran out of money, they declared Furqan dead.

The city’s chief medical officer told the outlet that an investigation is proceeding into the country’s medical practices. Narendra Agarwal told the outlet that they have taken cognizance of this incident and the matter will be thoroughly investigated. He further added that the patient is in critical condition but definitely not brain dead. His pulse, blood pressure and his reflexes are working and he has been put on ventilator support.
