Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan has said that around 28 cases of novel coronavirus outbreak have been confirmed in India till now. The coronavirus outbreak, or COVID-19, has rapidly spread through more than 80 countries.

Worldwide, there are over 92,800 confirmed cases of novel coronavirus. Approximately 3,100 people have died till now – mostly in China. Infections have gradually increasing in Iran, Italy, Japan and South Korea.

The Gujarat Health Department has said that no one of the 1,582 people who are kept under observation after returning from coronavirus-hit countries have been found to be infected with the virus. Out of these people, 964 came from China, 147 from Thailand, 131 people from Australia, whereas the remaining came from other countries.

The Rajasthan government has issued instructions to collectors and chief medical health officers of Jhunjhunu, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur and Jaipur districts to take suitable public health measures in the places which are visited by the group of Italian tourists. The group, included the couple that has tested positive for the virus and has travelled in these districts from February 21 to 28. Officials have asked to disinfect the rooms and the bus in which the group travelled from that time they had arrived at the Delhi airport to the hotels they stayed in across the state.

Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan reports of an increase in the price of N95 masks. He said that if people are taking advantage and misusing them, then they would be labelled as "black sheep" and a procedure to punish them would be implemented.

People are also staying away from sports events, museums, performance halls and beaches as the coronavirus is rapidly spreading across the world.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has tweeted that Holi is an important festival for Indians but in the stir of coronavirus, he has decided not to participate in any Holi Milan celebration this year. He has also appealed everyone to avoid public gatherings and to take care of themselves and their family.

Coronavirus in India latest updates shows a total number of confirmed cases is 28.

• First three patients in Kerala (Indian students from Wuhan, China), which are recovered.
• A 45 year old man from Delhi.
• 6 relatives in Agra, Uttar Pradesh got infected by the Delhi patient.
• 26-year-old man in Hyderabad, Telangana.
• 16 Italian tourists along with their Indian driver.

Till now, Indian authorities had screened over 5 lakh people at airports, more than 15,000 people at sea ports and almost 10 lakh people at the borders.

Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister was going to hold a meeting at 12.30 pm to evaluate the readiness for dealing with coronavirus in India.
