New Delhi: With data stating that as many as 99 doctors across the nation have succumbed to COVID-19, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has issued a red alert for the safety of medical practitioners and medical administrators who are involved in the efforts to contain the coronavirus.

The IMA National COVID registry data suggest that 1,302 doctors have been infected. Of these, 99 have lost their lives fighting against the highly contagious virus. Around 75% of these are above the age of 50 years.
