16 lakh people gets vaccinated against COVID-19 in India, Karnataka tops the list

On Sunday, the total number of people who got vaccinated against COVID-19 had crossed 16 lakh in India. Karnataka vaccinated the highest number of healthcare workers till now with more than 1.9 lakh people and was followed by Odisha who vaccinated 1.5 lakh people and Andhra Pradesh who vaccinated 1.4 lakh people. Only five states of India – Haryana, Punjab, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu had conducted inoculation sessions.

Temporary data that was assembled by the health ministry presented that 31,466 people got vaccinated in 693 sessions in the mentioned states till 6.30 pm on the 9th day. 10 adverse events after vaccination were reported on Sunday.

Up to now, almost 16, 13,667 receivers are vaccinated against COVID-19 from the time vaccination drive has been rolled out on 16th January with two vaccines — Covishield, which is developed by Oxford University and AstraZeneca and Covaxin being manufactured by Bharat Biotech.
