Four doctors of a nursing home have been booked for alleged negligence causing the death of a newborn in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad district, stated the police on Monday.

The deceased baby’s father, Sumit Parasher, filed a complaint at Dhanbad Sadar Police Station, stating that the baby died due to negligence of the four doctors, including the owner of the facility, stated an officer.

The complaint stated that Parasher’s  wife, Shalini, was admitted to the nursing home on September 9 where she gave birth to the child who died last Saturday. Under a magistrate’s supervision, post-mortem examination of the body was done at Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College and Hospital, revealed Dhanbad Sadar Police Station officer in-charge, Vinay Kumar Singh.

He stated that the civil surgeon of the district hospital has been asked to constitute a medical board over the death of the baby.

Recently, another FIR was lodged against a doctor in Dhanbad for alleged negligence in the treatment of a Bokaro patient who died at a hospital.
