Four more Omicron cases in Delhi; India's total tally rises to 53

Four more Omicron cases were reported in the National Capital on Tuesday, taking the total tally of COVID cases to six in Delhi and 53 in the country. India reported its first Omicron cases in Bengaluru.

Currently, 20 Omicron cases have been reported in Maharashtra,17 in Rajasthan, 6 in Delhi, 4 in Gujarat, 3 in Karnataka, 1 in Kerala, I in Andhra Pradesh and 1 in Chandigarh.

Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain said that four new cases were reported in the capital, a total being six, and the health condition of all the patients was stable. The first case was discharged from the hospital. All the 35 COVID positive patients and three suspected patients have been admitted at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) hospital. 

Rajasthan Health Minister Parsadi Lal Meena said that with four more new cases, the total Omicron cases in Rajasthan were 17. All the previous Omicron cases tested negative and were under observation.

The International travel guidelines have made COVID testing mandatory for all passengers coming from high risk-countries and random testing from other countries. Genome sequencing is being done for the samples which are found to be COVID positive.
