Over 97% of India′s adults have been administered the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and nearly 82% have been administered the second dose thus far, stated the Health Minister on Thursday.

The country’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 178.26 crore as over 21 lakh doses were administered till 7 p.m. on Thursday. The ministry further stated that more than 2.03 crore precaution doses have been administered so far.

Health Ministry′s Joint Secretary, Lav Agarwal, said during a press briefing that the average weekly COVID positivity rate in the country stood at 0.99%. He added that there has been a steep decline in coronavirus infections in India.
