World Kidney Day (WKD) is a global awareness campaign initiated by the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) and the International Federation of Kidney Foundations (IFKF). It aims to raise awareness of the significance of kidneys for an individual’s overall health. It also aims to decrease the frequency and effects of kidney disease and its associated health problems.

This year, WKD is being observed on March 10. Every year, events are organized by hundreds of organizations and individuals on WKD in order to raise awareness about kidney disease with regard to prevention, risk factors, and living well with the condition.
