Doctors who are practicing in both government and private hospitals would not be able to practice if they fail to re-register with the Madhya Pradesh Medical Council.

Around 200 doctors in Indore were unable to re-register with the state council due to technical issues and some futile requirements introduced by the state organization, stated Dr. Sanjay Londhe, former vice-president of the Indian Medical Association.

The state medical councils online registration link is not working properly. It was closed in January and when it reopened, the council requested the doctors to upload the documents such as the Class 10 mark sheet and internship certificate. Several senior doctors had finished their studies long back and are now unable to locate their mark sheets.

Dr. Londhe went on to say that the state council should resolve their technical issues and extend the re-registration time for doctors. Though the deadline for registration was 31st March, the link was closed on March 29. The council must help the doctors who have not been able to re-register.

Meanwhile, Dr. Anil Bhatia, a representative of the state medical council and president of the Indian Medical Association-Madhya Pradesh, said that the state medical council issued re-registration instructions in December, giving doctors plenty of time to comply.

Further, Dr. Bhatia said that the unnecessary documentation and biometric compulsion have been made optional, adding that they have also requested the council to extend the period of re-registration.
