When a 107-year-old woman suffered a heart attack, her family brought her to Marengo CIMS Hospital, Ahmedabad. Her angiography showed a severe 99% blockage of the arteries. The team, under the leadership of Dr. Keyur Parikh, cardiologist, Chairman of the hospital performed the challenging surgery. Dr. Parikh stated that age should not be a limitation to healthcare delivery. He also added that the life span in India is increasing and is almost on par with Japan and Norway. 

According to several clinical studies, about 40-50 million people in India suffer from ischemic heart disease. Moreover, 15-20% of deaths account for IHD-related conditions and fatalities, out of the total tally.
