PUNE: On Thursday, the rural police booked a fake doctor from the Narayangaon area after receiving a complaint from the district health officials. According to the official, the individual was allegedly running a clinic and prescribing allopathic medicines. 

According to the police official, the individual; added the initials of ‘Dr.’ before his name and displayed it with the name of the clinic. He was allegedly cheating patients for his own financial benefits by prescribing medicines. The accused failed to produce his certificates when asked by the police officials. The FIR against the fake doctor was lodged under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 33 (2), of the Maharashtra Medical Practitioners Act, 1961 at Narayangaon police station.
