Achieving A1c, LDL-C and BP targets reduces complications in type 2 diabetes

Achieving triple treatment targets of HbA1c <7%, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) <100 mg/dL and blood pressure <140/90 mm Hg reduces the risk for macrovascular complications, mortality, and microvascular complications in patients with type 2 diabetes, according to a study published May 21, 2018 in Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice. Compared to A1c and BP, achieving LDL-C goal was more likely to reduce risks.
