Dysglycemic Detection Drive in Bangalore (East) Under the Aegis of KRSSDI-2017

  1. India leads the world and stands at the second position after China, with 69 million persons affected by diabetes.
  2. KRSSDI 2017, as a social responsibility initiated the dysglycemic detection drive across the state motivating physicians and HCPs to detect the prevalence of dysglycemia amongst the general nondiagnosed population.
  3. Our study showed increasing burden of undiagnosed DM in all age groups, especially in young adults (18-40 years) 16.5%, which is alarming.
  4. In young, family history was not a major contributing factor for development of DM (44.2%); it was rather faulty lifestyle, sedentary extended working hours and urban lifestyle.
  5. Early identification of glycemia would help to prevent diabetes and its related complication.
