A video of a Madhya Pradesh doctor kissing a woman, supposedly a nurse, inside an operation theatre has been doing the rounds on social media. The Ujjain district hospital civil surgeon was later removed from his position, as the clip went viral. Ujjain district collector Shashank Mishra told PTI that the 49-year-old doctor had to leave his post for the "behavior unbecoming of an officer".

Mishra told that the doctor has been removed from the post of the civil surgeon of the district hospital and an explanation has been sought from the senior doctor. District Chief Medical and Health Officer (DCMHO), Dr Mohan Malviya, stated that the Divisional Commissioner is expected to order an enquiry into the incident. Mishra mentioned that a response is awaited from the doctor who has been on leave since two days.

The woman is a nurse at the district government hospital, according to the PTI, and the operation theatre shown in the video is one at the hospital. Dr Malviya did not comment on whether the clip was shot in the operation theatre or not. Local police have denied having received any complaints so far. The identity of the doctor or the nurse has also not been disclosed yet. The current position of the nurse at the hospital is not known.
