Total thyroidectomy improves persistent Hashimoto-related symptoms
A randomized trial comparing thyroidectomy versus medical management for persistent Hashimoto-related symptoms despite euthyroid status found that total thyroidectomy improved health-related quality of life and fatigue, whereas medical therapy did not. These findings are published online March 12, 2019 in the Annals of Internal Medicine.
