HYDERABAD: With Karnataka sounding an alarm over the Nipah virus and neighboring Kerala reporting a confirmed case, health authorities in Telangana are gearing up to prevent the spread of the infection. An internal advisory has been issued directing health officials to be on the lookout for suspected cases and track travel history of patients showing symptoms.
While no official alert has been sounded so far, the threat of the virus—especially with Kerala being a top domestic tourist destination for summer vacation—has been recognized.
